Tika Ram Homestay

...

Chalamthang is a small village located just 42 kms from Gangtok and 98 kms from Siliguri. The name of the village literally means “Orange Farm” in Lepcha language. Our home stay in Chalamthang is located on the edge of a hilltop with a panoramic view of the Himalayan foothill, the meandering Teesta River and the snowy peaks of Nathula and beyond. We have 4 ethnic rooms and have also made a Machaan (watch tower) for our guests from where they can enjoy these mesmerizing views.

At Chalamthang village, you can pick vegetables straight from the garden and give them to our kitchen for fresh salads. You can also visit Kaleej Khola – the local rivulet gurgling through the
rocky slopes – to take a dip or go fishing. If you're feeling adventurous, you can go trekking to nearby caves and hilltops. And in the evenings, you can enjoy cultural programs and barbecues.
There's a whole range of activities to enjoy while staying at Chalamthang, from angling and vegetable picking to trekking and forest picnics. Time moves slowly here – most of the sightseeing
options can be covered on foot.
